Chapter 49
यज्ञमित्यपरे विप्रा: प्रदानमिति चापरे । तपस्त्वन्ये प्रशंसन्ति स्वाध्यायमपरे जना:
yajñam ity apare viprāḥ pradānam iti cāpare | tapas tv anye praśaṃsanti svādhyāyam apare janāḥ ||
ヴァーユは言った。「ある博識のバラモンたちは、祭祀（yajña）こそ最高の善であると宣言し、また別の者たちは施与（pradāna）を尊ぶ。ある者は苦行（tapas）を讃え、他の人々は自修と聖なる知の誦習（svādhyāya）を称揚する。」
