एवं गोशकृतः: पुत्र माहात्म्यं तेडनुवर्णितम् । माहात्म्यं च गवां भूय: श्रूयतां गदतो मम,बेटा! इस तरह मैंने तुमसे गोबरका माहात्म्य बतलाया है। अब पुनः गौओंका माहात्म्य बतला रहा हूँ, सुनो
evaṁ gośakṛtaḥ putra māhātmyaṁ te ’nuvārṇitam | māhātmyaṁ ca gavāṁ bhūyaḥ śrūyatāṁ gadato mama, vatsa ||
ビーシュマは語った。「わが子よ、このようにして、牛から生じるもの（牛糞）の偉大さを汝に説き明かした。今ふたたび聞け。これより、牛そのものの、さらに大いなる栄光を語ろう。」
