Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
ऋषीणां सर्वलोकेषु यानि ते यान्ति देवता: । दमेन यानि नृपते गच्छन्ति परमर्षय:
ṛṣīṇāṃ sarvalokeṣu yāni te yānti devatāḥ | damena yāni nṛpate gacchanti paramarṣayaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「王よ、諸世界において神々が到達する神聖なる成就——その同じ境地に、至高の聖仙たちは自己抑制（ダマ）によって到達する。ゆえに、諸根を制し、規律ある行いを守ることこそ、最高の霊的到達へ直通する手段であると宣言されるのだ。」
