On the Fruits of Austerity and Giving
कान्ताभिरपरांस्तत्र परिष्वक्तान् ददर्श ह | न ददर्श च तान् भूयो ददर्श च पुनर्नुप:
kāntābhir aparāṁs tatra pariṣvaktān dadarśa ha | na dadarśa ca tān bhūyo dadarśa ca punar nṛpaḥ |
ビーシュマは言った。「そこでは王は、ほかの者たちが愛する者の抱擁に絡め取られているのを見た。だがまた見えなくなり、そして再び見えた。かくして、天上の歓楽が満ちるその不思議な境域では、知覚そのものが揺らいだ――快楽と執着は不安定であり、感官の享楽によって求めるものは確かに保持できぬことを示している。」
