प्रस्थाप्य पूर्व कौन्तेयो भीष्मसंस्करणाय वै | माल्यानि च वराहाणि रत्नानि विविधानि च
vaiśampāyana uvāca | prasthāpya pūrva kaunteyo bhīṣma-saṃskaraṇāya vai | mālyāni ca varāhāṇi ratnāni vividhāni ca ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。先にクンティーの子ユディシュティラは、ビーシュマの葬送の儀のため、花鬘と選りすぐりの供物、さらに種々の宝玉をすでに送り届けていた――ダルマにかなう敬意をもって大長老を弔うためである。
