Dharma includes honoring elders and teachers through proper rites and respectful remembrance. Even after conflict, one must uphold gratitude, decorum, and ritual responsibility toward those who embodied duty.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira had already arranged and sent essential ritual items—ghee, garlands, fragrances, cloth, and precious aromatics like sandalwood and agaru (including kālīyaka)—as preparations for Bhīṣma’s cremation/funeral observances.
