नामधेयानि देवेषु बहुन्यस्य यथार्थवत् । निरुच्यन्ते महत्त्वाच्च विभुत्वात् कर्मभिस्तथा,उनकी महत्ता, व्यापकता तथा दिव्य कर्मोंके अनुसार देवताओंमें उनके बहुत-से यथार्थ नाम प्रचलित हैं
nāmadheyāni deveṣu bahūny asya yathārthavat | nirucyante mahattvāc ca vibhutvāt karmabhis tathā ||
ヴāユは言った。「神々のあいだでは、彼には多くの名が当てられているが、その一つ一つは真に意味を備えている――その偉大さから、遍く行き渡る主宰の力から、そして神聖なる業から生じた名である。ゆえに多くの尊称の伝統は、ただの慣習ではなく、名は実在の徳と行いに相応すべきだという認知なのである。」
