tasya ghorāṇi rūpāṇi dīptāni ca bahūni ca | loke yāny asya pūjyante viprās tāni vidur budhāḥ ||
The verse emphasizes that the divine may be approached through many awe-inspiring and radiant manifestations revered in society, but accurate understanding of these forms requires disciplined learning and discernment—here attributed to wise brāhmaṇas who preserve and interpret sacred knowledge.
Vāyu is speaking about a previously referenced divine being, stating that this being has numerous fearsome and luminous forms worshipped in the world, and that learned brāhmaṇas are the ones who truly know and can identify these manifestations.
