मुज्च भार्यामुतथ्यस्य कस्मात् त्वं हृतवानसि । “वरुण! तुम मेरे कहनेसे मेरी पत्नीको छोड़ दो। तुमने क्यों उसका अपहरण किया है? तुम लोगोंके लिये लोकपाल बनाये गये हो
muñca bhāryām utathyasya kasmāt tvaṁ hṛtavān asi
アルジュナは言った。「ウタティヤ（Utathya）の妻を解き放て。なぜおまえは彼女を奪い去ったのか。おまえたちは諸世界の守護者として任じられたのであって、世の秩序を壊す者ではない。ソーマ（Soma）はその娘を私に与えた。彼女は正当な我が妻である。しかるに今日、いかにしておまえは彼女を略奪したのか。」ウタティヤの言葉に従い、ナーラダ（Nārada）は水界の主ヴァルナ（Varuṇa）にこの要求を伝え、女を放つよう促し、その掠奪の正否を問いただした。
