Educational Q&A

The verse praises the ideal of divine and ethical greatness: true supremacy is marked by humility (not craving honor) while actively honoring others, and by sustaining the world through wisdom, truth, and righteous order.

In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma instructs and extols the Supreme through a sequence of divine names/epithets (as in the Viṣṇu-sahasranāma context), explaining qualities of the Lord who governs and upholds the cosmos and is present in sacrificial worship.
