Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
तांक्षापि दैवतश्रेष्ठ: प्राह प्रीतो जगत्पति:
tāṃ kṣāpi daivataśreṣṭhaḥ prāha prīto jagatpatiḥ
そのとき、世界の主にして神々の中の最勝者は、心に喜びを湛え、彼女にもまた語りかけた。
वासुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights that divine instruction is not merely command but also a response of grace: when conduct aligns with dharma, the Lord is described as 'prīta' (pleased) and speaks approvingly, reinforcing ethical action through compassionate guidance.
Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa), addressed as the Lord of the worlds and the foremost divine being, turns to 'her' and speaks as well, explicitly noting his pleased disposition—indicating a favorable reception of what has occurred immediately before this line.
