Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
न शव्यं द्रष्टमन्येन वर्जयित्वा पिनाकिनम् । सुदर्शनं भवत्येवं भवेनोक्तं तदा तु तत्
na śavyaṁ draṣṭam anyena varjayitvā pinākinam | sudarśanaṁ bhavaty evaṁ bhavenoktaṁ tadā tu tat ||
ヴァースデーヴァは言った。「ピナーカを執る者（シヴァ）を除き、他の誰もそれを目にすることはできなかった。そのときバヴァ（シヴァ）は宣した。『見やすきものとなれ——スダルシャナ。』それ以来、その武器は世に『スダルシャナ』の名で知られるようになった。」
