Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
उत्पादितं वृषाड्केन दीप्तज्वलनसंनिभम् | दत्तं भगवता तुभ्य॑ दुर्धर्ष तेजसाद्भुतम्
utpāditaṃ vṛṣāṅkena dīptajvalanasaṃnibham | dattaṃ bhagavatā tubhya durdharṣaṃ tejasādbhutam ||
ヴァースデーヴァは言った。「その武器は、燃え立つ火のごとく輝き、牛の印を戴く主（シヴァ）によって生み出され、汝に授けられた。驚異にして抗しがたい光威を備え、征服されぬ—それはかつてシャンカラが、水中に住み驕り高ぶった魔を討ったのちに与えた賜物である。」
