Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
नानानियमविख्यातैर्षिभि: सुमहात्मभि: । प्रविशन्नेव चापश्यं जटाचीरधरं प्रभुम्
nānā-niyama-vikhyātair ṛṣibhiḥ su-mahātmabhiḥ | praviśann eva cāpaśyaṃ jaṭā-cīra-dharaṃ prabhum ||
ヴァースデーヴァは言った。「多くの戒行で名高い大いなる仙人たちによって光り輝く、その最勝のアーシュラマに入るや否や、私はただちにウパマニュを見た。結髪（ジャター）に樹皮衣をまとい、威力と光彩に満ち、苦行（タパス）によって火のごとく燃え輝き、性は静かで、若くして、弟子たちに囲まれて座す、尊きバラモンであった。」
