Adhyāya 119: Vyāsa–Kīṭa-saṃvāda

Tapas-bala and karmic ascent across yoni

वे सब नरेश अपनी कान्तिसे प्रज्वलित होते हुए वहाँ ब्रह्मलोकमें विराज रहे हैं, गन्धर्व उनकी उपासना करते हैं और सहसौरों दिव्यांगनाएँ उन्हें घेरे रहती हैं ।।

bhīṣma uvāca | te sarve nṛpāḥ svayā kāntyā prajvalantaḥ tatra brahmaloke virājante | gandharvāḥ teṣām upāsanāṃ kurvanti sahasraśaś ca divyāṅganāḥ tān parivārayanti || tad etad uttamaṃ dharmaṃ ahiṃsā-dharma-lakṣaṇam | ye caranti mahātmāno nākapṛṣṭhe vasanti te ||

ビーシュマは言った。かの王たちは自らの光輝に燃え立つようにして、梵天界において燦然と輝いている。ガンダルヴァ(Gandharva)は敬虔に彼らに仕え、幾千の天女が彼らを取り巻く。これこそまさしく、非暴力(ahiṃsā)を標とする最上のダルマである。これを実践する大いなる魂は、天界の頂に住まう。
