मन्मथाभिपरीतात्मा नापश्यद्‌ गिरिकां तदा । अपश्यन्‌ कामसंतप्तश्नरमाणो यदृच्छया

Transliteration

manmathābhiparītātmā nāpaśyad girikāṁ tadā | apaśyan kāmasaṁtaptas caramāṇo yadṛcchayā ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。恋の神マンマタに心を奪われ、その時、王はギリカーの姿を見いだせなかった。彼女を見ぬまま欲望の火に灼かれ、成り行きに任せてあちらこちらへとさまよった。
