King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
जय: सत्यव्रतश्नैव पुरुमित्रश्न भारत । वैश्यापुत्रो युयुत्सुश्नव एकादश महारथा:
Jayaḥ Satyavrataś caiva Purumitraś ca Bhārata | Vaiśyāputro Yuyutsuś caiva ekādaśa mahārathāḥ ||
ダーシャは言った。「おお、バーラタよ。ドリタラーシュトラの子らとその同盟者のうち、偉大なる戦車武者(マハーラタ)は十一人——ドゥルヨーダナ、ドゥフシャーサナ、ドゥフサハ、ドゥルマルシャナ、ヴィカルナ、チトラセーナ、ヴィヴィンシャティ、ジャヤ、サティヤヴラタ、プルミトラ、そしてヴァイシャの女より生まれたユユツである。」

Even within a lineage famed for power, moral worth is not guaranteed by birth; the mention of Yuyutsu (born of a Vaiśyā woman yet later aligned with dharma) highlights that ethical choice can transcend social and familial identity.
