Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ

King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt

anantam acalaṁ devaṁ haṁsaṁ nārāyaṇaṁ prabhum | dhātāram ajam avyaktaṁ yam āhuḥ param avyayam ||

Educational Q&A

The verse teaches the supremacy and all-pervading nature of Nārāyaṇa: He is unborn, unmanifest, imperishable, both the sustaining ground of the cosmos and its inner ruler. The many epithets emphasize that the highest reality can be approached through purity (sattva) and is indicated by Oṁ.

The speaker (Dāśa) delivers a hymn-like description of the Supreme Being, listing revered names and philosophical attributes to identify Nārāyaṇa as the ultimate source, support, and indwelling controller of all beings.
