प्रागेवानागते काले तस्मात् त्वं मय्यजायथा: । अयं स काल: सम्प्राप्तो भयान्नस्त्रातुमहसि
prāgevānāgate kāle tasmāt tvaṃ mayyajāyathāḥ | ayaṃ sa kālaḥ samprāpto bhayān nas trātum arhasi, devatāke samāna tejasvī putra |
アースティーカは言った。「定められた時が来るよりはるか以前に、おまえはこの目的のためにわたしから生まれた。そして今、その時が到来した。ゆえに、神にも比すべき輝きを持つ光明の子よ、恐怖から我らを救わねばならぬ。ジャナメジャヤの蛇祭の予告された時は来て、蛇たちは絶え間なく火に焼かれている。この恐怖から彼らを救い出し、わたしの兄弟もあの恐るべき炎から救ってくれ。賢く大いなる父に仕えるため、わたしが託されたその目的を、むなしくしてはならない。教えておくれ、我が子よ——この危難から蛇たちを救うため、いかなる道が正しいとおまえは判断するのか。」
