Śārṅgaka-stuti to Agni during the Khāṇḍava Conflagration (शार्ङ्गक-स्तुतिः / अग्नि-स्तुतिः)
एवमस्त्विति त॑ वल्निब्रह्याणं प्रत्यभाषत । सम्भूतौ तौ विदित्वा तु नरनारायणावृषी
evam astv iti taṁ vahni-brahmāṇaṁ pratyabhāṣata | sambhūtau tau viditvā tu nara-nārāyaṇāv ṛṣī |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「そのとおりになれ」と、彼はブラフマーとアグニに答えた。長い時が過ぎ、アグニが、聖仙ナラとナーラーヤナが生まれ（人界に化身として現れ）たことを知ると、ブラフマーの先の言葉を思い起こし、そして—王よ—再びブラフマーのもとへ赴いた。
