Śārṅgaka-stuti to Agni during the Khāṇḍava Conflagration (शार्ङ्गक-स्तुतिः / अग्नि-स्तुतिः)
भविष्यत: सहायौ ते नरनारायणौ तदा । ताभ्यां त्वं सहितो दावं धक्ष्यसे हव्यवाहन,“हव्यवाहन! उस समय नर और नारायण तुम्हारे सहायक होंगे। उन दोनोंके साथ रहकर तुम उस वनको जला सकोगे”
bhaviṣyataḥ sahāyau te naranārāyaṇau tadā | tābhyāṃ tvaṃ sahito dāvaṃ dhakṣyase havyavāhana ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「やがて、ナラとナーラーヤナ（Nara–Nārāyaṇa）が汝の助け手となろう。ハヴィヤヴァーハナ（Havyavāhana、火）よ、その二者と力を合わせれば、汝はあの森を焼き払うことができる。」
