Fire-escape deliberation
त॑ तु धौम्यादयो विप्रा: परिवार्योपतस्थिरे । बृहस्पतिसमा मुख्या: प्रजापतिमिवामरा:
te tu dhaumyādayo viprāḥ parivāryopatasthire | bṛhaspati-samā mukhyāḥ prajāpati-mivāmarāḥ ||
そののち、道弥耶を首座とするバラモンたちは集い、彼を取り囲んで仕えた。中でもブリハスパティにも比すべき最勝の者たちは、神々がプラジャーパティに奉仕するように侍立し、かくして諸賢は王の周りにあって、ダルマにかなう助言と支えを捧げた。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of kingship supported by learned brahmins: righteous rule is strengthened when wise counselors respectfully attend the king, just as divine order is upheld by the gods serving Prajāpati.
Vaiśampāyana describes Dhaumya and other eminent brahmins gathering around and attending upon the king (Yudhiṣṭhira), surrounding him in a posture of service and counsel, likened to the gods attending Prajāpati.
