भीमस्य जलान्वेषणं तथा वनविश्रान्तिः
Bhīma’s Search for Water and the Forest Halt
द्रुपद: कौरवान् दृष्टवा प्राधावत समन्ततः । शरजालेन महता मोहयन् कौरवीं चमूम्
vaiśampāyana uvāca | drupadaḥ kauravān dṛṣṭvā prādhāvat samantataḥ | śarajālena mahatā mohayann kauravīṃ camūm |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。クル族を見たドルパダ王は、四方から一斉に突撃した。大いなる矢の網を張りめぐらせ、クル軍を混乱と昏迷に陥れたのである。戦車に乗り、ただ一人で矢雨を浴びせているにもかかわらず、その恐怖ゆえにクル族は彼を、まるで幾人にも増えたかのように見なした—武勇と攻勢の勢いが一人の戦士の威容を増幅し、大軍の胆力を揺るがすことを示す光景である。
