उपस्थानगहै: शुभ्रेवलभीभिश्न शोभितम् । गवाक्षकैस्तथा जालैर्यन्त्रै: सांचारिकेरपि
upasthānagṛhaiḥ śubhra-valabhībhiś ca śobhitam | gavākṣakaiḥ tathā jālair yantraiḥ sāñcārikair api ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。遊楽の園と王家の遊亭の一郭は、優雅な謁見の間、白く輝く楼台と張り出した庇、格子や窓の開口で美しく飾られ、さらに持ち運びのできる散水の仕掛けまでも備えていた。宮殿造りの職人たちは園と遊戯殿を掃き清め、画師たちは絵で彩った。水を湛えた井戸や池がその光彩を増し、咲き誇る蓮に覆われた水面はいっそう麗しかった。季節に応じて咲いては散った花々が地を覆い、まるで花の絨毯のようであった。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The passage highlights the ideal of cultivated kingship: prosperity expressed through order, cleanliness, artistry, and care for public/royal spaces. Ethical emphasis is indirect—good governance is reflected in well-maintained, harmonious environments rather than mere power.
Vaiśampāyana describes a royal pleasure-garden and recreation-building being readied and beautified—architectural features, decorative painting, waterworks, and seasonal flowers together create an atmosphere of refined splendor.
