Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial
tathā divyāni cāstrāṇi nikhilenāhariṣyati | vipraṇaṣṭāṃ śriyaṃ cāyam āhartā puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||
The verse emphasizes rightful restoration: a worthy hero gains the necessary power (divine weapons) and also reclaims lost prosperity, suggesting that strength is meant to re-establish legitimate order rather than for mere conquest.
Vaiśampāyana foretells that Arjuna will fully obtain celestial weapons and will also recover the prosperity that had been lost—anticipating his future empowerment and the eventual reversal of the Pāṇḍavas’ dispossession.
