Vaiśampāyana uvāca: bhīṣmo buddhimān mahān kulasyāsya vivṛddhaye | sā ca buddhis tvayy adhīnā putri prāpaya māṃ tathā ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「賢明にして大いなる魂をもつビーシュマは、この血統を増し、絶やさぬための策を示した。だが娘よ、その成否はお前の手にある。ゆえにビーシュマの指し示したとおり、私をその境地へ導き、求めるものの成就を見せておくれ。」
