pūjito mantrapūrvaṁ tu vidhivat prītim āpa saḥ | tam āsanagataṁ mātā pṛṣṭvā kuśalam avyayam ||
マントラの誦唱を伴い、規定どおりに礼拝を受けたので、彼は満ち足りた。すると母は、彼が座に就いているのを見て、衰えも欠けもない安否をたずねた。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Proper conduct (dharma) in domestic and social life is shown through two linked duties: honoring someone with correct ritual propriety (vidhivat, mantrapūrvam) and responding with affectionate concern by inquiring after their welfare (kuśalam).
After being formally received and honored with due rites, the person becomes pleased; then his mother, noticing him seated, asks about his well-being, signaling familial care and respectful conversation.
