彼は無敵にして敵なき御方、覚知の光そのものである。観想し、よりどころとすべき御方。供物を運ぶ者(内なる火として)である。彼は世界の造り手、ヴェーダの顕現者、聖なるスートラの編者、そして永遠者である。
Suta Goswami (reciting the Shiva Sahasranama to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames Shiva as the Eternal Light and the inner Fire that receives offerings—supporting both external Linga-puja (homa, naivedya) and internal worship where the Linga is realized as pure consciousness (āloka).
Shiva is presented as Pati: enemyless, self-luminous, and beginningless—also the source of cosmic order (world-maker) and revelation (Veda-maker), indicating His sovereignty over both creation and liberating knowledge.
Ritually, it points to homa and Vedic offering through Havyavahana; yogically, it emphasizes dhyāna on Shiva as āloka—the inner light that burns pasha (bondage) and steadies the pashu (individual soul) in Pashupata-oriented contemplation.
