labdhvā sasarja sakalaṃ śaṃkarāccaturānanaḥ jarāmaraṇasaṃyuktaṃ jagadetaccarācaram
シャンカラ(シヴァ)より創造の力と御命令を授かった四面のブラフマーは、動くものと動かぬものを含むこの全宇宙を生み出し、老いと死という条件を伴わせた。
Suta Goswami (narrating the creation account to the sages; describing Brahmā’s act empowered by Śiva)
It establishes Śiva (Śaṅkara) as the supreme Pati whose śakti authorizes creation; Linga worship honors that transcendent source beyond the created world of change, aging, and death.
Śiva-tattva is shown as the sovereign cause who empowers Brahmā’s secondary creation; the world arises under His sanction, while beings remain within pasha—marked by jarā and maraṇa—until liberated by His grace.
The verse implies the Pāśupata orientation: since the cosmos is bound to decay and death, the sādhaka turns to Śiva through Linga-pūjā and inner discipline (yoga) to transcend pasha and attain Śiva’s state.
