Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues
akṣaḥ sahaikacakreṇa bhramate 'sau dhruveritaḥ prerako jyotiṣāṃ dhīmān dhruvo vai vātaraśmibhiḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating the cosmic arrangement within the Linga Purana discourse)
It frames the cosmos as a divinely governed mechanism: just as Dhruva steadies and impels the lights, the Linga signifies the unshaken axis of Pati (Shiva) around which all movement and worship find order.
Shiva-tattva is implied as the supreme governance (niyati) behind motion and stability—Pati enabling the functioning of the world while remaining the steady axis beyond change.
A contemplative Pashupata-style insight is suggested: meditate on cosmic order (time, stars, direction) to loosen pasha (bondage) and recognize Pati’s regulating presence behind all movement.
