The Solar Eclipse at Samanta-pañcaka and the Great Reunion of Yādavas, Pāṇḍavas, and Vraja
स्त्रियश्च संवीक्ष्य मिथोऽतिसौहृद- स्मितामलापाङ्गदृशोऽभिरेभिरे । स्तनै: स्तनान् कुङ्कुमपङ्करूषितान् निहत्य दोर्भि: प्रणयाश्रुलोचना: ॥ १५ ॥
striyaś ca saṁvīkṣya mitho ’ti-sauhṛda- smitāmalāpāṅga-dṛśo ’bhirebhire stanaiḥ stanān kuṅkuma-paṅka-rūṣitān nihatya dorbhiḥ praṇayāśru-locanāḥ
女たちは互いに見つめ合い、親愛のこもった清らかな微笑みと澄んだ横目を交わした。やがて抱き合うと、クンクマとサフランの香膏に染まった胸が触れ合い、情愛の涙がその瞳に満ちた。
This verse depicts hallmark symptoms of prema—spontaneous embrace, affectionate smiles, sidelong glances, and tears—showing devotion expressed as deep, selfless affection.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates these events to Mahārāja Parīkṣit, describing the devotees’ emotional reunion at Kurukṣetra.
It teaches that genuine spiritual community is grounded in purity, affection, and humility—expressing care for devotees and allowing the heart to soften through sincere bhakti.
