Sukta 1
प्र त्वा मुञ्चामि वरुणस्य पाशाद् येन त्वाबध्नात् सविता सुशेवाः । ऋतस्य योनौ सुकृतस्य लोके स्योनं ते अस्तु सहसंभलायै
prá tvā́ muñcāmi váruṇasya pā́śād yéna tvā́badhnāt savitā́ suśévaḥ | ṛtásya yónau sukṛtásya loké syónaṃ te astu sahá-saṃbhalāyai ||
Forth do I loose thee from the noose of Varuṇa, wherewith Savitar, most gracious, bound thee. In ṛta’s womb, in the world of well-doing, may there be for thee a kindly seat, for joint abundance.
われは汝を解き放ち、前へと進ませる。ヴァルナ(Varuṇa)の縄から――その縄で、最も慈しみ深きサヴィタール(Savitar)が汝を結び留めた。ṛta(宇宙の秩序)の胎内に、善行の世界に、汝のためにやさしき座があり、共なる豊かさのための備えとなりますように。
