FAQs

It teaches Purāṇa-dāna as a concrete religious practice: commissioning/copying a Purāṇa manuscript (lekhana) and donating it to learned vipras as a high-merit form of charity.

Beyond theology, it documents a practical cultural technology of dharma—manuscript production, patronage, and transmission of knowledge—showing the Purāṇa as a guide to religious economy and preservation of śāstric learning.

The verse states that Purāṇa-copying and gifting brings sarva-pāpa-vinirmukti (removal of sins), accomplishment of aims, and svarga-prāpti (attainment of heaven).
