Related Themes: Agni Purana 255 (Vyavahara: theft, restitution, partition)
It gives a practical vyavahāra (legal) rule: if disputed/mutually appropriated property is discovered after a prior division, it must be re-apportioned equally among the concerned parties.
Beyond theology and ritual, the Agni Purāṇa preserves dharmaśāstra-style civil jurisprudence—covering property disputes, restitution, and equitable partition—showing its broad, applied knowledge base.
Equitable re-division reduces the karmic burden of wrongful appropriation and supports dharma through fairness, preventing continued injustice and the sin associated with retaining disputed wealth.
