इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे ऋग्विधानं नामाष्टपञ्चाशदधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः अथोनषष्ट्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः यजुर्विधानं पुष्कर उवाच यजुर्विधानं वक्ष्यामि भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदं शृणु ओंकारपूर्विका राम महाव्याहृतयो मताः
ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe ṛgvidhānaṃ nāmāṣṭapañcāśadadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ athonaṣaṣṭyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ yajurvidhānaṃ puṣkara uvāca yajurvidhānaṃ vakṣyāmi bhuktimuktipradaṃ śṛṇu oṃkārapūrvikā rāma mahāvyāhṛtayo matāḥ
かくして『アグニ・マハープラーナ』において、「リグ・ヴィダーナ」と名づけられる章は第258章である。いま第259章「ヤジュル・ヴィダーナ」が始まる。プシュカラは言った。「ヤジュル・ヴィダーナを説こう。聞け、これは世の享受と解脱の双方を授ける。おおラーマよ、大いなるヴ்யाहリティは音節オーム(Oṃ)を先に置くものとされる。」
