FAQs

Ayurvedic prognostics (ariṣṭa-lakṣaṇa): it lists signs such as southward movement, worsening disease, loss of anticipated results, and dhātu-disintegration as indicators of serious decline.

It shows the text functioning as a compendium by incorporating clinical-style Ayurvedic terminology (dhātu, vyādhi) and prognostic frameworks alongside its religious and ritual material.

The south is traditionally linked with Yama (death) and inauspiciousness; recognizing such signs is framed as a caution to intensify remedial conduct—purificatory acts, restraint, and appropriate rites—when decline is indicated.
