FAQs

It prescribes a dakṣiṇā-and-dāna protocol: after worshipping the annual officiating priests and other brāhmaṇas, one should give concrete remunerative gifts—cattle, houses, and especially land and grain—as principal offerings.

Beyond theology, it codifies practical household-ritual administration—how priests are honored and compensated—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of social-religious procedure (pūjā, dāna, and ritual economy) alongside other sciences.

Honoring priests and brāhmaṇas with substantial gifts (especially land and food) is presented as a merit-producing act that supports ritual continuity and is traditionally linked with purification and auspicious karmic results.
