Concept: Mantra-śuddhi through nyāsa-like boundary conditions: the ‘frame’ (ādi/anta) governs the integrity of the whole.

Application: When concerned about mantra-doṣa or mixed syllables, ensure siddha-markers at the opening/closing and perform japa with protective visualization of a luminous enclosure.

FAQs

It teaches a mantra-shastra rule: if the siddha (proven/efficacious) component is correctly positioned at the beginning or the end of a mantra, intervening obstacles or hostile influences in the middle are not counted as a mantra-doṣa.

Beyond mythic narration, it preserves practical ritual technology—classification of mantra defects and their neutralization—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of applied disciplines like mantra-vidyā alongside other sciences.

It frames correct mantra-structure and placement as a safeguard that prevents spiritual impediments (doṣa/obstruction), supporting steadiness and efficacy in japa and ritual practice.
