FAQs

It prescribes a graha-śānti upāya: performing abhiṣeka (ritual bathing/sprinkling) using sarṣapa-ambhas (mustard-infused water) to neutralize planetary afflictions and secure prosperity and favour from authority.

It exemplifies the text’s practical, manual-like coverage of applied Jyotiṣa—giving a concrete, ritual technology (a specific abhiṣeka substance and intended results) alongside broader dharma and worship topics.

The act functions as a purification and pacification rite: by ritually cleansing with a prescribed medium, one reduces graha-doṣa (karmically manifest obstacles) and restores auspiciousness (śrī) and orderly fortune.
