Related Themes: Agni Purana: Dāna-dharma chapters on anna-dāna and dakṣiṇā (contextual); Agni Purana: Pūjā-vidhi conclusion rites (pūrṇāhuti/uttara-kriyā) leading into feeding (contextual)
It teaches dāna-vidhi for bhojana-dāna: feed dvijas in an orderly sequence, with respect and according to one’s means, following prescribed ritual etiquette.
Alongside topics like ritual, governance, and other sciences, the Agni Purāṇa also codifies practical dharma—here, the procedural norms of charity and hospitality (feeding and honoring recipients) as a standalone technical discipline of conduct.
Giving food respectfully and according to proper rule is presented as dharmic charity that increases puṇya (merit) and purifies the giver’s conduct through disciplined, non-showy generosity.
