It prescribes a sequence in rite-performance: recite the Pauruṣa hymn, offer an añjali of water (udakāñjali), then perform agnihavana (homa), and conclude with dāna according to one’s means.
It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s practical ritual-handbook style—codifying mantra selection, offering types (water libation, fire oblation), and the ethical-social completion of rites through charitable gifts.
The verse links purification and merit to correct ritual order: mantra-guided offerings (water and fire) culminate in dāna, reinforcing that worship is completed by generosity proportional to one’s capacity.
