It prescribes a naimittika (occasion-specific) procedure: give dakṣiṇā to Brahmins and perform worship of Viṣṇu and Śrī using lotus offerings at an astrologically significant commencement (Makara; and the Horse/Aśvinī period).
It integrates multiple domains in a single instruction—dāna (ritual economy), naimittika-dharma (applied dharma), and Jyotiṣa-based timing (Makara/Aśvinī)—showing how the Agni Purana systematizes practical religious life alongside calendrical science.
Dakṣiṇā supports the proper completion of rites and honors sacred learning, while timely worship of Viṣṇu with Śrī is framed as a prosperity- and merit-generating act aligned with auspicious calendrical transitions.
