Chapter 283 — Mantras as Medicine (मन्त्ररूपौषधकथनम्)

नारायणञ्च दुःस्वप्ने दाहादौ जलशायिनं हयग्रीवञ्च विद्यार्थी जगत्सूतिं सुताप्तये बलभद्रं शौरकार्ये एकं नामार्थसाधकम्

nārāyaṇañca duḥsvapne dāhādau jalaśāyinaṃ hayagrīvañca vidyārthī jagatsūtiṃ sutāptaye balabhadraṃ śaurakārye ekaṃ nāmārthasādhakam

悪夢に遭うときは「ナーラーヤナ(Nārāyaṇa)」を念じ、火災などの危難には「ジャラシャーイン(Jalaśāyin:水上に臥すヴィシュヌ)」を念ずべきである。学を求める者は「ハヤグリーヴァ(Hayagrīva)」を、子を得んとする者は「ジャガットスーティー(Jagatsūtī:世界の母)」を念ずべきである。勇武を要する行いには「バラバドラ(Balabhadra)」を念ずべし。かくして、ただ一つの神聖なる御名により、意図する目的は成就する。
