Educational Q&A

The verse underscores rājadharma: an ideal emperor sustains social and cosmic order through disciplined governance and sanctioned public rites. Bharata’s repeated Aśvamedhas symbolize expansive responsibility, generosity, and the pursuit of merit through lawful means.

Dhaumya is describing King Bharata’s greatness, stating that Bharata, famed as a cakravartin, performed thirty-five Aśvamedha sacrifices at that very place, emphasizing his extraordinary imperial stature and ritual accomplishment.
