अध्याय ९० — लोमशोपदेशः तथा तीर्थयात्रानिश्चयः

Lomaśa’s Counsel and the Resolve for Pilgrimage

यजमानस्य वै देवाञज्जमदग्नेर्महात्मन: । आगम्य सरितो विप्रान्‌ मधुना समतर्पयन्‌,“महात्मा जमदग्नि जब यज्ञद्वारा देवताओंका यजन कर रहे थे, उस समय उनके यज्ञमें सरिताओंने आकर मधुसे ब्राह्मणोंको तृप्त किया”

yajamānasya vai devān jamadagner mahātmanaḥ | āgamya sarito viprān madhunā samatarpayan ||

As the great-souled Jamadagni was performing sacrifice, worshipping the gods, the river-deities came there and, with honey, satisfied the brahmins present at the rite. The episode underscores the sanctity of yajña and hospitality: when a sacrifice is conducted with purity and dharma, even the forces of nature are portrayed as supporting the nourishment and honoring of the worthy.
