Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas

Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana

वृषभैकादशफलं लभते नात्र संशय: । पुष्पवत्यामुपस्पृश्य त्रिरात्रोपोषितो नर:

vṛṣabhaikādaśaphalaṃ labhate nātra saṃśayaḥ | puṣpavatyām upaspṛśya trirātropoṣito naraḥ ||

Pulastya said: “There is no doubt of it: a man who performs ritual purification by bathing at Puṣpavatī and then observes a fast for three nights attains the merit equal to that of the ‘eleven-bull’ sacrifice. The teaching emphasizes that disciplined austerity joined with sacred observance at a holy place yields great spiritual fruit.”
