एतदिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुं त्वत्त: सर्वमशेषत: । तत्त्वेन हि ममाचक्ष्व पृच्छन्त्या देवरूपिणीम्‌,“ब्रह्मन्‌! इस देवरूपिणी नारीके विषयमें यह सारा वृत्तान्त मैं पूर्णरूपसे सुनना चाहती हूँ। मैं जो कुछ पूछती हूँ, वह मुझे ठीक-ठीक बताओ”

etad icchāmy ahaṃ śrotuṃ tvattaḥ sarvam aśeṣataḥ | tattvena hi mamācakṣva pṛcchantyā devarūpiṇīm ||

Bṛhadaśva said: “I wish to hear all of this from you, completely and without omission. Tell me the truth of it clearly, for I am asking about that woman who bears a divine form.”
