Sudeva Identifies Damayantī in Cedi (सुदेवेन दमयन्ती-परिचयः)
भर्तुरन्वेषणार्थ तु पश्येयं ब्राह्मणानहम् । यद्येवमिह वत्स्यामि त्वत्सकाशे न संशय:
bhartur anveṣaṇārthaṁ tu paśyeyaṁ brāhmaṇān aham | yady evam iha vatsyāmi tvat-sakāśe na saṁśayaḥ ||
Bṛhadaśva said: “For the purpose of searching for my husband, I would like to meet the brāhmaṇas. If that is so, then I shall stay here near you—of that there is no doubt.”
बृहदश्चव उवाच
The verse highlights purposeful action guided by dharma: in a time of uncertainty, one seeks the counsel of learned brāhmaṇas and commits firmly to a chosen course, expressing resolve without wavering.
Bṛhadaśva states an intention to consult brāhmaṇas as part of searching for her husband, and assures the listener that, if permitted, she will remain nearby without doubt.
