Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Sañjaya on Arjuna’s Indraloka report and the political consequences

सान्त्वयित्वा शुभैर्वाक्यै: स्मयमानो5 भ्यभाषत । सुपुत्राद्य पृथा तात त्वया पुत्रेण सत्तम

sāntvayitvā śubhair vākyaiḥ smayamāno ’bhyabhāṣata | suputrā ’dya pṛthā tāta tvayā putreṇa sattama ||

Having consoled her with auspicious and reassuring words, he spoke with a gentle smile: “O Pṛthā (Kuntī), today you are truly blessed with a noble son—your son is the best of men.”
