Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Sañjaya on Arjuna’s Indraloka report and the political consequences
ततो<हं समनुज्ञाता तेन पित्रा च तेडनघ । तवान्तिकमनुप्राप्ता शुश्रूषितुमरिंदम,अनघ! शत्रुदमन! तदनन्तर चित्रसेन और तुम्हारे पिताकी आज्ञा शिरोधार्य करके मैं तुम्हारी सेवाके लिये तुम्हारे पास आयी हूँ
tato 'haṃ samanujñātā tena pitrā ca te 'nagha | tavāntikam anuprāptā śuśrūṣitum ariṃdama ||
Arjuna said: “Thereafter, having been duly permitted by him and also by your father, O sinless one, I have come into your presence to render service to you, O subduer of foes.”
अर्जुन उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma as disciplined obedience and service: one should act with permission from rightful authorities (elders/guardians) and approach another with humility, intending to serve rather than to assert oneself.
The speaker reports that, after receiving leave from a previously mentioned person and from the addressee’s father, they have come to the addressee’s presence with the expressed purpose of attending upon and serving them.
